THE INDUSTRIAL TOOLS ADSI IS LOOKING FOR

SEALS

  •               – A lip seal or SPI seal (acronym for Société des Perfectionnements Industriels) is a radial sealing ring for rotating parts (crankshafts, camshafts, etc.) or sliding parts (shock absorbers), unlike the O-ring, which is not suitable for rotations.
O-rings are used in mechanical engineering, industry, aeronautics and hydraulics, to seal two interdependent parts. Most O-rings are made of rubber. The main standard O-ring compounds are suitable for most industrial applications. Seals and O-rings are used to join two parts of a machine, motor or other mechanical assembly, filling the gap between the two parts to create a solid, sealed space between them.

BELTS

Belts are used to transmit motion, and the ribbed V-belt is no exception to this tradition. It drives a wide range of equipment.

The V-belt is a belt with a trapezoidal cross-section. The V-belt’s trapezoidal shape ensures good contact with pulleys, without slipping, thanks to the mechanical principle of wedging. Older in design than toothed belts, V-belts are still used in many systems, notably in agricultural machinery and ventilation.

Synchronous belts (sometimes called toothed belts or, improperly, toothed belts) are belts whose shape enables them to mesh frictionlessly with a roller whose teeth match those of the belt. The function of the synchronous belt is to ensure transmission without slipping (like chains or gears). Its most common use is as a timing belt to replace a chain or gear transmission, which requires permanent lubrication. Neoprene timing or synchronous belts transmit high power and torque for all types of system. They guarantee system synchronization and slip-free transmission of motion.

  •              – Ribbed belts offer all the advantages of flat belts, while limiting slippage by increasing the contact surface due to the ribbing. In high-speed installations, they are an advantage over toothed belts.
